Recently, several new works by talented artists have been added to our exhibition. Today we will introduce you to the figure of Petro Gronsky through the prism of his works.

The city is one of the main themes that the author works with. Observing the structure, rhythm, patterns and changes, Petro is looking for the ‘places’ that people occupy in it.

The work that is in the foreground is The Shining. Gronsky himself sees the idea of sculpture as follows: ‘It is an attempt to capture a paradoxical state in the material. Light, as if penetrating into the form, is able to change the established idea of it, to fill it with some other, new, irrational, almost spiritual meaning.’

At the same time, the concrete reliefs entitled ‘Gloomy Landscapes’ are intended to capture the changing state of the present reality and to find, among the anxieties and uncertainties, the desired place of calm and contemplation necessary to comprehend the new reality.

The work is a documentation of the author’s personal perception of the grim reality of wartime, which he recorded in his studio in Kyiv during 2022-2023.
