Vernissage of the BZH-ART PROJECT

Today we opened a Charity Christmas exhibition in support of artists and art!

At the exhibition, we presented 100 works by legendary artists from the BZH-ART artistic association. This year the group celebrates its 30th anniversary! Among the artists are such star names as Matvey Vaisberg, Yuri Solomko, Maxim Mamsikov, Sergei Gai, Vladislav Shereshevsky, Boris Yeghiazaryan, Andrey Bludov, Alexander Levich, Olga Solovyova, Nikolai Babak, Evgeny Matveyev, Vladimir and Nikolai Zhuravel, and others.

In the halls of our gallery, we tried to recreate the atmosphere of the workshops, where it is almost impossible to work nowadays, because the temperature in the rooms is 1°C. That is why another task we set ourselves is to help BZH-ART raise funds for an autonomous heating system.

“In addition to a full-scale war, we have also got a war in culture. And the absence of a cultural policy in the state and effective support for artists in such a difficult time is a road to nowhere. Today, the artists of BZH-ART need real support, because there is concern in the art sector that the electricity and heating have been switched off so that artists cannot create in their own studios. And the building, which now houses 80 workshops, has changed hands. Our charity initiative is the beginning of more radical actions to defend the interests of artists. Our goal is to help raise funds to install autonomous heating and electricity in the studios. As for the motives of this crime and suspicions about the desire of certain officials to take possession of it through raiding, I hope that the relevant law enforcement agencies will deal with it,” said Natalia Zabolotna, co-owner of Art Ukraine Gallery and head of the Humanitarian Development Foundation of Ukraine, at the opening.
