SAVADOV ARSEN

Born in Kyiv in 1962.

In 1982 he graduated from the Taras Shevchenko Republican Secondary Art School.

In 1986, he graduated from the Kyiv Art Institute in Kyiv (now the National Academy of Arts).

During 1982-1996 he worked together with Heorhii Senchenko, in 1987 they created the famous painting “Cleopatra’s Sadness”, which marked the arrival of the New Wave.

In the 90s, he tried to work with other media, such as video and photography. He collaborated with Heorhii Senchenko and later with Oleksandr Kharchenko. However, in the future, he preferred to work individually.

In 1997, he made photographs for his famous series “Donbas-Chocolate”.

2001 – represented Ukraine at the 49th Venice Biennale, Italy – “The First Ukrainian Project”

2012 – joined ART KYIV Contemporary 2012 (presentation of The Commedia Dell’arte In Crime project) and ARSENALE 2012. He also participated in these projects the following year. Back then, the Mystetskyi Arsenal was headed by Natalia Zabolotna.

In 2022, he took part in the “Independent” charity exhibition in Miami. The project was curated by Natalia Zabolotna, founder of Art Ukraine Gallery. All the funds raised were used to support wounded children.
