Matsenko Mykola

Born in 1960 in Prutivka village, Ivano-Frankivsk region.

From 1972 to 1979 he studied at the Republican Art School, Kyiv.

In 1984, he graduated from the Lviv State Academy of Arts.

In 1997, with the exhibition “Spicy Grapes” (Karas Gallery), he began to develop Ukrainian stereotypes in his works, and he is still working on this topic.

In 1992, together with Oleh Tistol, he founded the creative group for the study and preservation of national stereotypes – “National Industry”.

He lives and works in Cherkasy and Kyiv.

Currently, artworks of several series of the artist are exhibited at the Art Ukraine Gallery.
