Dubovyk Oleksandr

He was born in 1931 in Kyiv.

In the 1948-1950s, he studied at the Taras Shevchenko Kyiv Secondary Art School, with Hennadii Tytov.

In 1951-1957, he studied at the Kyiv Art Institute (now the National Academy of Arts).

Since 1958, he has been a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.

From 1962 to 1965, he continued his postgraduate studies at the creative workshops of the USSR Academy of Arts in Kyiv under the guidance of Serhii Hryhoriev.

From 1959 to 1962, he taught painting and drawing at the Kyiv School of Applied Arts.

Since 1970, he has been engaged in mural painting.

In 1987, he became the head of the creative association “Pohliad”.

Since 2009, he has been an honorary member of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.

Oleksandr Dubovyk’s works have been exhibited at numerous exhibitions in Ukraine and worldwide. He has participated in about 60 group projects in Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Slovakia, Great Britain, France, Finland, Germany, and Austria. His works are kept in museums and private collections around the world.

Currently, artworks from several series of the artist are exhibited at Art Ukraine Gallery.
