War is not just about fighting. We live in constant anticipation of news, and the space is saturated with so much information noise that it is difficult to even perceive.
We are constantly consuming this information. As we rapidly absorb the news, we forget what happened yesterday just as quickly. Lesia Stankevych’s paintings are made of edible material, and this emphasises the transience of what is happening to us and around us.
However, everything that happens changes us, even if we don’t notice it at first. Are we in control of this process? Can we influence our own internal changes?
After all, they are the ones that will stay with us forever.
We invite everyone to visit the exhibition “Consumption in Time of War” and support its charitable intent.
During the exhibition, paintings will be sold, and all proceeds will be used to help the soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In cooperation with the Christian Medical Association of Ukraine Foundation, we are raising funds for 2 pick-up trucks for the medical company of the 141st Infantry Brigade and the evacuation team of the 33rd Mechanised Brigade, which will serve as reinforcement for our combat medics in saving their comrades.
All the paintings are available for purchase in the gallery and online on Instagram @ururur.art
