Zhumailova-Dmitrovska Oleksandra

Oleksandra was born in 1975 in Kyiv.

In 1987-1994 she studied at the Taras Shevchenko State Art High School, Department of Painting.

From 1994 to 2000 – at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, Department of Theatre, Faculty of Painting.

In 1997, she did an internship at the University of Granada, Faculty of Arts (Spain).

2007 – personal project “Streets. Vector – Kyiv – Amsterdam”, Art-Kiyv Contemporary II, at the Ukrainian House in Kyiv. The exhibition was curated by Natalia Zabolotna.

In 2011, she took part in the project “INDEPENDENTdependent” – New Art of the New Country 1991-2011, at the Mystetskyi Arsenal in Kyiv. At that time, the head of the institution was Natalia Zabolotna.

In 2015, she presented her personal exhibition “Diary” at the DIALOGIA Art Projects Forum, as part of the Art-Kiyv Contemporary X project at the Mystetskyi Arsenal in Kyiv. At that time, the head of the institution was Natalia Zabolotna.

In the same year, she began to participate in numerous exhibitions, including group projects:

2018 – participation in the exhibition of the Shcherbenko Art Centre at Kyiv Art Fair | KYIV ART WEEK | Kyiv | Ukraine; and personal exhibitions:
2003 – project “Autumn” under the patronage of the British Embassy | Kyiv | Ukraine;

2004 – project “Intimate Diary” | gallery of the Foundation for the Promotion of the Arts | Kyiv | Ukraine; project “Art non-stop” | “Art Gallery” of the University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy with the support of the Swiss Cultural Foundation-Ukraine “Pro-Helvatia” | Kyiv | Ukraine;

2005 – project “City code” | gallery of the Foundation for the Promotion of the Arts | Kyiv | Ukraine;

2006 – project “Fairy Tale Mania” | “Gallery of Arts” of the University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy | Kyiv | Ukraine;

2009 – White Square Gallery [Berlin] presented a personal project “Ambivalence” | Art-Kiyv Contemporary IV | Ukrainian House | Kyiv | Ukraine;

2016 – “Visualisation”, in collaboration with Ukrainian fashion designer FROLOV | Shcherbenko Art Centre | Kyiv | Ukraine.
2018 – “Collection”, Shcherbenko Art Centre | Kyiv | Ukraine; Graphic painting of 40 m of the pavilion “The Country We Dreamed of” in the “Corruption Park” | Gres Todorchuk PR project, created with the support of the European Anti-Corruption Initiative | Kyiv | Ukraine.

Currently, artworks from several series of the artist are on display at Art Ukraine Gallery.
